Fulham assistant manager Christian Damiano was delighted his team finally got the result their good football deserved in beating West Ham United 2-0 at Upton Park this afternoon.

The Whites registered their first away win back in the top flight through goals from French duo Sylvain Legwinski and Steed Malbranque

“That was a good game for Fulham, we played well and took our chances. We have been unlucky in previous matches when we have narrowly missed out on getting the points we have deserved, so this is a good win.

“West Ham are a good team, they push you to put your defence under pressure but we were able to counter-attack. Our first goal came at an important time. It meant West Ham had to take a few risks in the second half and that gave us space for players such as Luis Boa Morte and Louis Saha.”
