Aston Villa manager John Gregory paid tribute to veteran goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel after his superb display in their 2-0 win over Fulham.
The Dane pulled off a number of great saves and seemed to have the ball covered when Fulham’s Louis Saha missed a late penalty.
Gregory said of Schmeichel: “He’s been awesome. When Saha took the penalty I’m sure it was Schmeichel that made him miss the target completely. His team-mates get inspiration from him every day of the week. He made one brilliant save in the first half today which kept us in the game, he does everything in a first class manner and it rubs off on the other players.”
