Fulham Ladies continued their outstanding start to the season by ending Newport County’s 100% record in emphatic style – hitting fourteen goals in a comprehensive victory.

The in-form Katie Chapman completed an astonishing hat-trick inside the first fifteen minutes to effectively end the match as a contest. Fulham scored nine in total by half-time with Marianne Pettersen, Rachel Yankey and Margunn Haugenes also getting on the scoresheet.

The Whites hit five more in the second half as their superior fitness told, with manager Gaute Haugenes pleased with Fulham’s clinical display. He told the club’s official website:

“Apart from a very good passing game, the one thing that pleased me most was that we were well organised at set pieces. Six of the goals came from moves we had practiced in training.”
