Full back Steve Finnan feels Fulham have proved they belong in the Premiership despite recording only one win in their first five games of the season.
The Whites returned to the top flight for the first time in 33 years last month having romped to the Division One title last term and, after a thrilling defeat by Manchester United, picked up their only win against Sunderland. Jean Tigana’s side were well beaten by Arsenal in last week’s local derby but Finnan is far from downhearted.
The Republic of Ireland international said:
“The football we play is suited to this level. I think you can say that about most of the players at this club. “It’s pretty much what I expected. You’re up against quality players so you make a mistake and you get punished.
I think we are playing well, we’re just trying to keep playing the way we did last year and not change anything and I think we are doing that. We’re creating plenty of chances.”
