French outfit Lyon have snubbed a £10.5million bid from Fulham for highly-rated striker Steve Marlet.
The Cottagers hoped to add to their French contingent after signing Steed Malbranque for £5million from Lyon last month, but have been told that Marlet is not for sale at any price at the moment.
“I had Jean Tigana on the telephone this morning who made a good offer,” revealed Lyon sporting director Bernard Lacombe told L’Equipe.
“However, it is out of the question at the moment for us to respond to the demand.
“We cannot have Marlet leave so close to the start of the Champions while we are lamenting the injury absence of Sonny Anderson and while Sidney Govou only returned to the reserves on Saturday after a month’s absence.”
