Fulham boss Jean Tigana could hand new signing Sylvain Legwinski his debut against Sunderland at Craven Cottage this evening.

The French midfielder, who has signed a four-year contract, after completing a £3.3m move from Bordeaux could slot straight into midfield for the Whites’ first top-flight fixture at their historic home in 33 years with former Sunderland midfielder Lee Clark missing due to an achilles injury. The hosts will also be without the suspended Luis Boa Morte as they look to earn their first points following an agonising 3-2 defeat at Manchester United on Sunday.

Tigana does have veteran full back Rufus Brevett available for selection after he completed his suspension following his sending off in the dramatic win at Brentford last season, but the Frnechman is expected to stick with summer signing Jon Harley at left back. Former Sunderland skipper Andy Melville is set to start at centre back.
