Rufus Brevett faces a nervous wait to see if he will win back his left-back place from Jon Harley for the visit of Sunderland tomorrow.

The experienced defender has been Fulham’s first-choice left-back for the last three years and only recently signed a new contract.

But he missed Sunday’s game at Old Trafford because of suspension and that gave Harley the chance to stake a claim for his place.

Brevett is available again on Wednesday because he only had a one-match ban. But Jean Tigana will not announce his team until the last moment – leaving Brevett to sweat on whether he is still first choice or not.
