Michael Fiddy has written to 12,000 local residents after Fulham opted to boycott a meeting organised by the Fulham Alliance about club’s plans to redevelop Craven Cottage.

The Fulham managing director said the Alliance were publishing incorrect information about the proposals and explained Fulham’s decision not to attend a public meeting scheduled for this evening. The Fulham Alliance, made up of rich residents who are implacably opposed to football being played at Fulham’s historic home, have based their objections on the increased height of new stands and the construction of a conference centre – but Fiddy says their claims are inaccurate.

In the letter, he writes:

“The nature of the misinformation propagated has led us to conclude it is inappropriate for the club to meet with the organisation.”
