Lee Clark wants to leave Fulham this summer after being shocked by the club’s decision to part company with manager Paul Bracewell earlier this week.

The former Newcastle and Sunderland midfielder, who Bracewell brought to Craven Cottage for £3m in the summer, was left out of Karl-Heinz Rielde’s squad for yesterday’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace having made clear his disappointment at Mohamed Al-Fayed’s sacking of the former Fulham manager on Thursday. The 26 year-old is close to his former team-mate and is understood to be eager to move on despite quickly becoming a popular figure with the Fulham fans.

A source close to Clark told the Observer:

“It is no secret that Lee only agreed to sign for Fulham because Paul was in charge. He had a lot of respect for the manager and won’t want to stay now that he’s gone, no matter who takes over.”
