Fulham have one foot in the third round of the League Cup after a four-goal thrashing of Norwich City at Carrow Road this evening.

The Whites went in front midway through the first half when a mistake from Adrian Coote saw the Canaries’ forward lose possession on the edge of his own box to Lee Clark, who crossed from the right to provide Paul Peschisolido with a simple finish from a couple of yards out. The visitors were in complete command from that point forward but only added to their advantage midway through the second half when Coote’s terrible evening went from bad to worse.

The striker, making his first start of the season for Bruce Rioch’s men, reached an outswinging corner from Steve Hayward just in front of Kit Symons at the back post but only succeeded in heading into the top corner of his own net. Clark then clinically made it three on the break ten minutes later when he found the far corner after being perfectly played in by Peschisolido, who had muscled Shaun Carey off the ball in the middle of the park.

Substitute Wayne Collins rounded off the scoring just a minute after replacing Clark by heading a looping cross from Steve Finnan in off the far post.
