Fulham manager Kevin Keegan has made England international John Salako his first summer signing.
The former Crystal Palace winger has returned to the capital joining Fulham on a free transfer following his release by Coventry City. Salako, now 29, has endured dreadful luck with injuries since reaching the FA Cup final with the Eagles and being handed an England debut by Graham Taylor.
He had a knee repaired using a dead man’s ligament in revolutionary treatment four years ago and Keegan, who came close to signing Salako for Newcastle three years ago, has finally got his man. The winger teams up with his former Palace team-mate Chris Coleman and old manager Alan Smith, now Fulham’s youth team director, at Craven Cottage as Keegan bids for promotion in his full season in charge.
