Welsh forward Chris Pike scored six goals in 47 games for Fulham between 1985 and 1989 despite struggling with form and fitness whilst at Craven Cottage. He moved to Cardiff City after a successful loan spell at Ninian Park forming a potent partnership with Chris Dale. Pike’s sporting pedigree remained in the family – his late son Oliver was a talented cricketer, while his nephew is Welsh legend Gareth Bale.
