Tall centre half Ernie Howe came through the Fulham reserve ranks to make 83 appearances for the Whites, scoring twelve goals, between 1973 and 1977. He played alongside Bobby Moore and George Best at Craven Cottage and featured in Fulham’s run to the 1975 FA Cup final, but did not play at Wembley. He joined Queens Park Rangers and later played for Portsmouth before moving into coaching and management after his playing career.
