John Fraser joined Fulham’s youth team set up as a fourteen year-old in 1967. He came through the ranks as a midfielder but was converted into a left back by George Cohen, then the club’s reserve team coach, and made his debut in a 2-1 win over Blackpool in October 1971. He became a regular in the 1974-75 season, starting 25 games, and playing in the FA Cup final after Les Strong suffered an injury. Fraser fell out of favour with Alec Stock and left for Brentford on a free transfer in July 1976.
