Right back Barry Mealand made his Fulham debut in a victory over Aston Villa at Craven Cottage in October 1961. He became a reliable understudy to England international George Cohen and Jim Langley, doing well to battle back from a badly broken leg to make 35 first-team appearances for the Whites. He spent the final two years of his professional career with Rotherham United and sadly died aged 70 having fought a serious illness for the final eighteen months of his life.
