England international Eddie Lowe sits second on Fulham’s all-time appearance list, having played 511 games for the Whites between 1950 and 1963. He helped Fulham reach the FA Cup quarter-finals in 1951 but the club were relegated from the top flight. Lowe stayed loyal to the Cottagers for seven seasons in the second tier, eventually helping his side return to the top tier in 1959. He missed most of Fulham’s remarkable run to the 1958 FA Cup semi-finals due to injury, but played in every round as the Whites reached the same stage four years later. He left Craven Cottage in 1963 to take over as player-manager at Notts County, but left the game two years later. He settled in Nottingham but sadly died in 2009.
