Irish goalkeeper Hugh Kelly was one of three signings from Belfast Celtic to join Fulham in the summer of 1949. He replaced Ted Hinton in goal, becoming one of the heaviest players in the Football League. He made 25 appearances helping Bill Dodgin’s side comfortably avoid relegation and earned the first of his Irish senior caps whilst at Craven Cottage.
