Fulham are pushing hard to sign Mainz attacking midfielder Nadiem Amiri, according to a Teamtalk report.
The Whites are battling FA Cup winners Crystal Palace and several Bundesliga sides to bring the Germany international to Craven Cottage. Mainz are open to a deal for the 28 year-old, who misses tonight’s Nations League semi-final against Portugal with a minor injury, for around £15m.
Amiri, who can operate as a number ten, a more conventional central midfielder or sitting in front of the back four, has scored nine goals – and contributed nine assists – in 47 appearances for Mainz, who finished sixth and qualified for the Conference League play-offs this year. He has also played more than a hundred games for TSG Hoffenheim and Bayer Leverkusen. The classy midfielder, whose proposed £6m move to Leeds United collapsed at the eleventh hour a couple of years ago, has won seven senior caps for his country.
Teamtalk’s report suggests that Fulham are the frontrunners in the chase for energetic midfielder, who was selected in this season’s Bundesliga team of the season, as Marco Silva looks to revamp his midfield for the 2025/2026 campaign.
