Fulham midfielder Seth Ridgeon opened the European Under 17 Championships with a fine assist as England drew their opening game against Belgium this evening.

The sixteen year-old starlet, who captained his country, produced a peach of a pass to put Lyon striker Alejandro Rodriguez in the clear and the highly-rated forward made no mistake with a clinical finish. Ridgeon did give away a free-kick that was wonderfully converted by Noah Fernandez, whose 30-yard strike flew in off the underside of the crossbar, as both sides had to settle for a share of the spoils in the opening game.

The young Lions are back in action on Friday when they face Italy.
