Alex Iwobi feels Fulham are ‘set for the season’ after completing the pre-season programme with a fine win over Hoffenheim this afternoon.

The Nigerian international made both goals as the Whites eased past Bundesliga opposition thanks to excellent finishes from Emile Smith Rowe and Adama Traore.

A confident Iwobi told FFCTV after the final whistle:

“It’s good that we were able to get the result, get some minutes in the legs. I’m very tired right now but feeling sharp and ready for the season to start. If I can’t score at least I’m able to create chances for my team-mates and Smith Rowe and Adama Traore are going to put those chances away. It’s not just them – there are so many goal threats in this team.

I played with Emile in the past, I know what kind of runs and qualities he can bring to the team. I’ve made him feel welcome – he’s scored two in two now – hopefully he can make it three in three against United! He’s a nice kid, he’s easy going, he’s always eager to learn, he hasn’t got an ego and he gets on with everyone. He makes it easy for us – it isn’t just his footballing ability, his personality makes him a great addition to the team.

You can almost over hit a pass to Adama because he’s so quick. I don’t think he knows quite how quick he is. When have such a weapon on the pitch, you have to try and utilise it as much as you can. It was a great finish from him after running the length of the pitch to stay composed. It was good for him to get on the scoresheet and it will do him the world of good in terms of confidence.”
