The story the other day suggesting Diomansy Kamara was certain to return to Fulham in the summer after Tony Mowbray was sacked by Celtic always had to taken with a hefty degree of salt given that the quotes were supplied by his former agent.
This afternoon, Kamara’s been talking in a more positive fashion about the possibility of a permanent move north of the border.
I read some wrong things in the newspaper when someone called Fabrizio Ferrari was talking in my name. But he was not talking for me at all.
Leaving Celtic is not in my plan. This is a massive club that I have a lot of respect for.
I started well here and scored some goals. I am still playing with good players in a good team. I have been so impressed with the club and the supporters and I am still enjoying my time here. My only problem has been this injury.
I am sad that Tony Mowbray left as I have a lot of respect for him, but this is football. I hope to stay at Celtic as I have been so impressed by this club and I think we can do some good things in the future and I would like to be part of it.
Looking on from afar, I’m a bit disappointed as I feel Kamara could provide a bit of unpredictability that seems to be sorely lacking in our attack at the moment. But, you can see Hodgson’s point as view as, first under Sanchez and then with Roy at the helm, Kamara’s struggled to put together performances on a consistent basis.
Kamara’s hand-to-the-ear goal celebration is one of my favorites in all of football. I’d love to see that back at the Cottage.
As I suspected – the players ex-agent was only after column inches (shame on you for giving it to him).
The little I have seen of Kamara at Celtic suggests that he could be a regular in our team – something which he doesn’t seem to be getting at Fulham.
Wherever he ends up, he seems like a decent guy from the interviews I have seen and the comments I have read.
Good luck to him…
In my defence, Celtic Supporter, I did mention that it was Joe’s former agent who had provided these quotes and was simply passing on a Scottish press story to fellow Fulham fans about someone who remains (for the moment) a Fulham player.
Kamara’s not really been a regular at Fulham because a) he hasn’t delivered consistently enough when he’s had a run in the side and b) he doesn’t fit into Hodgson’s system. A lot of Fulham fans like him and, having met him albeit briefly, I can say he’s a lovely and genuine man, which is sadly unsual in modern football.
Like Rich, I’d like to see him back at Fulham but I’m not convinced it’ll happen.
