Fulham have rejected a £29.8m bid from Bayern Munich for midfielder Joao Palhinha. The two clubs remain in discussions over a potential deal, according to the Athletic.
The German giants have revived their interest in the Portuguese international this summer with new head coach Vincent Kompany approving a new approach for the 28 year-old, who almost left Craven Cottage last summer only for a proposed deal to collapse on transfer deadline day as Fulham failed to find a replacement.
Palhinha has since signed a new contract with the Whites and Bayern’s initial bid falls well below Fulham’s valuation for the Premier League’s top tackler for this seasons in a row. With his former club Sporting Lisbon guaranteed a slice of the fee, Fulham are likely to insist upon a steeper fee if they are to allow one of Marco Silva’s key performers to depart.
Just goes to show that TK and Fulham are not the only ‘players’ in the market that haggle. Does seem as though he will be going. Just not for less than £45m.
That’s an insulting offer tell them where to go.
Is this a joke cos if it is it’s not funny. Last year we rejected a £47 million bid for him. Now he has a longer contract and we are discussing a bid of 29.8 million. Don’t talk to them until they put some sensible money on the table. He is the only world class player we’ve got and you’re talking about him going for peanuts. Seems all TK is interested in is instant money and a race to the bottom.
Double it.
It is only a bid. Rejected, as yet not accepted. He will leave though I guess.
And they said Germans did not have a SENSE OF HUMOUR.
