Fulham pair Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi have been included in Nigeria’s squad for their World Cup qualifiers next month.
The Craven Cottage duo both featured as the Super Eagles reached the African Cup of Nations final in January and they will be set to play a prominent part as Finidi George’s side seek to recover from a shaky start in qualifying for the 2026 finals in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
Nigeria took just two points from their first two fixtures – leaving them third in the standings – and will be targeting an improvement as they take on South Africa in Uyo on Friday 7 June before travelling to Abidjan in the Ivory Coast for a meeting with Benin on Monday 10 June.
