Marco Silva will wait until Antonee Robinson returns from international duty before deciding whether the full back faces QPR in Saturday’s local derby.
The American international played three sets of ninety minutes as Gregg Berhalter’s side made sure of a place at the World Cup finals in Qatar this winter but he won’t be able to take part in full training at Motspur Park until tomorrow. Silva told his pre-match press conference this afternoon:
“Robinson is not back yet but all of the others players who were away have come back in good condition for the next match. We have to wait one more day to see how Robinson will be. He played last night.”
The former Wigan defender has been Silva’s first choice left back this term, but the Fulham head coach could opt to offer a rare start to Joe Bryan, who has a history of scoring important goals in west London derbies.
Silva knows the clash with neighbours Rangers at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium will be a feisty affair.
“This will be a special game, a derby that fans and players love to be part of. These games are always tough, it will be a good game and hopefully for us a good result. We know we are playing against a side with very good quality. They want to win the match as well. They will want to show a reaction from the last few games where they didn’t get the result as well. It will be a tough match for both sides.”
