Fulham midfielder Tayo Edun is poised to complete a permanent move to Lincoln City, according to reports this afternoon.
Edun, 21, has less than six months to run on his current Craven Cottage contract and the Championship side have agreed to let him leave for a nominal fee this month. The versatile midfielder remains highly-rated by the Fulham coaching staff having progressed through the club’s academy but has struggled to make much of an impression on Scott Parker’s first team squad.
He has made seven senior appearances for Fulham, although most of these came during Slavisa Jokanovic’s time in charge, and he spent the first half of this season on loan at Ipswich – where he scored once in seven outings – before getting injured. Parker has not selected the England youth international in a matchday squad this season and Lincoln are understood to beaten competition off a host of Football League rivals to secure Edun’s signature.
The Imps sit sixteenth in League One after lifting the League Two title last season and Edun will become manager Michael Appleton’s second January signing after the loan capture of West Ham midfielder Conor Coventry.
