Napoli are keeping a close eye on Fulham centre back Tosin Adarabioyo with a view to signing him this summer, according to reports from Italy.
The Serie A side, who are expected to convert Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa’s loan from Craven Cottage into a permanent move at the end of the season, are already considering candidates to improve their defence as they plan a summer rebuild. Today’s Corriere dello Sport claims that Napoli’s scouts have been impressed with Adarabioyo’s excellent performances in the Championship this season, although the accuracy of their reports must be called into question by the assertion that can fill in at right back.
Napoli are said to hope they could sign the 24 year-old for less than his estimated £12.5m valuation as he enters the final twelve months of his current contract. But Adarabioyo signed a three-year deal when joining from Manchester City in September 2020, which includes an option for the club to extend for a further year. Fulham retained the services of commanding defender, who scored his second goal of the season in Tuesday’s rout of Reading, last summer despite his £10m release clause and would be confident of enticing Adarabioyo to a longer term deal should win promotion back to the Premier League.
We need to get Tosin signed up to a new long contract before we lose him for a low fee,we can’t keep making the same mistake time and again, so Tony Khan get a move on before it’s too late.
When Tosin joined it was for 3 years plus an additional year at the club’s option. So he is here until summer 2024 if we want him – which we do! Last 12 months starts in 18 months time so no rush!
Apparently all their Summer spending hinges on qualification for Europe, which is by no means a given, so I wouldn’t worry about this just yet.
They probably think that we’re a charity especially with the fee that they’re offering for Frank. So they’re probably think we’re an easy touch and let’s exploit them a bit more with Tosin. In saying that you have to be aware of sensationalism and click bait at this time of the season.
Why we are not tying him down to an improved contract! Because even if he leaves we get top dollar instead of nothing or a poultry sum which has happened far to often Tony!
