Timmy at the excellent Fulham Offside has unearthed an intriguing statistic from the weekend. Would you believe that our victory over Everton on Sunday was the first time Fulham have come from behind to win at home since our defeat of Aston Villa kickstarted Roy Hodgson’s reign and our ‘Great Escape’ in February 2008? I must confess I was surprised as I thought we’d been more resilient at the Cottage of late, especially given our excellent home record over the course of the last season.
Fancy that

Its funny because I missed the first half of the match (as I will for every Sunday game until Christmas), and so watching the team come from behind made me think: “Wait, we don’t do this…”
It also shows just how dominant our home form has been that we’ve never had to rally late, or at all really.
Yes thats an interesting point about it showing our dominance at home. I think that the response was great from the team in the second half but to be honest I hope that we can win without having to come from behind very often!
The only times we really need to rally at home last season were the two games where we didn’t really manage it. I suppose Hull’s very late goal meant there was little chance of us coming back, but our second half performance against Blackburn was very poor. That was a night when we seemed to relax after going ahead.
As Lydia says, I hope we don’t have to come from behind too often but it’s reassuring to know that we can. I think the manner in which we won those points on Sunday will give the team a lot of confidence.
