Slavisa Jokanovic admitted Fulham were not at their best during a see-saw encounter with Nottingham Forest and said he was relieved the Whites managed to pick up another three points at Craven Cottage this evening.

Former Fulham midfielder Pajtim Kasami shocked the home crowd by giving Forest the lead after just two minutes before two goals in three minutes from skipper Tom Cairney and Lucas Piazon turned the tie in Fulham’s favour. Teenage forward Ben Brereton restored parity with a header just after half-time before substitute Neeskens Kebano’s clever finish – which has been officially credited as an own goal by Forest defender Jack Hobbs – sealed another nervy victory.

The Fulham head coach told his post-match press conference:

I believe we have played better football. Today was not our best day, we didn’t play a brilliant game. But after a very soft start to the game, we found so many problems but we overcame them, then we win the game.

The last two games at home we have conceded four goals, both oppositions put us under so many stressful situations. We need to do better, we need the fans.

I have to be satisfied with the last 10 minutes. Neeskens Kebano has brought us four points and it’s important that he’s working hard. He’s fighting for a space in the team.
