Martin Jol is prepared to ring the changes for Fulham’s Carling Cup tie at Chelsea this week.

The Fulham boss has been encouraged by the performances of his fringe players and is ready to offer them an opportunity to shine in Wednesday’s local derby at Stamford Bridge, with a tough trip to West Brom to follow three days later.

We have 22 players now. There is a lot of youngsters and I have to integrate them.

Jol was particularly impressed by Pajtim Kasami’s impact off the bench against Manchester City yesterday.

Kasami has showed he can be a part of the squad. That’s good for us. We can play with a different team on Wednesday. I can still sleep on it for a few days.

England under-21 international Matthew Briggs could replace John Arne Riise at left back, while Philippe Senderos could return to the centre of defence as Aaron Hughes is likely to miss out with a groin problem. Marcel Gecov could make his Fulham debut in central midfield, whilst winger Kerim Frei could be handed another chance to shine after his promising displays in Fulham’s early European games.
