Two bits of early team news today. The first is that Jol has said that John Arne Riise will make his first full start in tomorrow’s game against the Crusaders. After a 60 minute cameo for the Reserves last saturday he has clearly been deemed fit enough to play in a competitive game, in all likelihood at the express of Briggs who’s done nothing wrong but when you compare the quality of the two players it is not a difficult decision. Hopefully we’ll see him alot more later on in the season mind.

Now for the bad news. West London-based journalist Jacob Murtagh has taken to Twitter to announce that Simon Davies will be out for a month with a knee injury. This will be a blow for the midfielder, with question marks already over his fitness he would have been keen to prove his quality to the new manager. It also means our squad takes another blow but hopefully we would not have to dip too far deep into it during the first few weeks of the season anyway.
