I had my strangest Dubai meeting in the four years I’ve been here as I floated lazily on my rubber ring at the Atlantis rapids recently.
Suddenly someone banged into me and shouted across, “Rob, are you still here?”
“Sparky. How are you?”
Former Fulham boss Mark Hughes was relaxing with his family.
“Villa or Chelsea?” I stammered.
“Don’t know what’s happening!”
With that he went left, and I went right. It wasn’t quite Obama meets Putin, but it was still good to see him.
