Marco Silva knows his Fulham side will have to be at their very best to beat Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium tomorrow night.
The Fulham head coach told his pre-match press conference that he was expecting the in-form Cherries to provide a serious test in front of the Sky cameras:
“[They are a] very physical [side] – and when I say physical side, not talking about the size of the team, [but] physical the way they approach, physical the way they challenge every single moment of the game. trong, direct game, and the way they prepare and challenge second balls, they are really on it, and from that moment they are able to build their attacking moments with their speed and pace. I think it’s one of their characteristics, definitely. It’s a team that plays always face to face with any team, and they are always challenging games between us and them.”
Silva recognises the threat posed by Ghana international Antoine Semenyo, who scored a hat-trick against Leeds United, and has hurt the Whites both in Bournemouth colours and previously whilst playing for Bristol City, but was quick to point out that Fulham won’t be facing anything like a one-man team.
“It’s not just him. If you look at the solutions they have in the frontline, it’s not just him. Of course, he’s in a good moment. Last season was very good for him as well. He’s a good example when I mentioned the physicality of the side. But I think they are much more than just Semenyo. They have good players all around the pitch and on the bench, and of course we have to be aware of them as a team, and not just one player.”
That’s the ticket Marco, get your excuses in before the match has been played.
Another likely loss coming up, Bournemouth are quality. Games against Arsenal and Newcastle to come so that will be 4 losses in a row including villa last week, 8pts after 9 games is terrible. Alot easier games to come to round out half way mark of the season 5 out of 10 are must wins (assuming losses against current top 4 plus ManC) need to pile on the points in those games.
Desperately need an attacking midfielder. In the interim need to start Iwobi in midfield and Kevin on LW.
Well Semenyo didn’t let Silva down.
