The Daily Mail are reporting this evening that Nottingham Forest are considering Marco Silva as a potential replacement for Ange Postecoglou – but claim their approach for the Fulham head coach is not likely to take place before the end of the season.
Forest are weighing up whether to stick with former Tottenham boss Postecoglou following Sunday afternoon’s defeat at Newcastle United. He has failed to win any of his seven matches in charge since succeeding Nuno at the City Ground, with five defeats and two draws – against Burnley and Real Betis in the Europa League – leading to calls for his dismissal from the Forest faithful.
The beleaguered Postecoglou is poised for talks with the Forest board in the coming days. The Mail suggests that Marinakis, who has always appointed out-of-work replacements in his time in English football, could place Silva, who managed Olympiacos earlier in his career, on his shortlist should the Postecoglou experiment be abandoned. Silva’s contract at Craven Cottage expires at the end of this season.
