Fulham forward Raúl Jiménez turned down the offer of ‘a blank cheque’ to return Mexico this summer, according to TUDN.
Gibrán Araige reports that Jimenez ‘flatly rejected’ the chance to head back to his homeland as he wanted to continue playing in the Premier League – and would only join Club América were to go back to Mexico. The 34 year-old signed a new one-year deal with the Whites and has scored once this season, against Bristol City in the League Cup, as he shares striking duties at Craven Cottage with Rodrigo Muniz.
The former Wolves striker opened the scoring in Mexico’s 2-2 draw with South Korea in Portland and has been linked with a return to Mexico almost ever since he signed for Fulham two years ago.
