Fulham have reached agreement with Chelsea over a deal to sign the nineteen year-old winger Tyrique George, according to the Athletic’s David Ornstein.
George, who played in Saturday’s SW6 derby for the Blues as a first half substitute, had been heavily linked with a move to Serie A side AS Roma but is now poised to join Fulham on transfer deadline day. The promising winger is set to sign a five year contract at Craven Cottage as personal terms have been agreed between the Whites and George’s representatives. Ornstein reports that the deal for George is worth up to £22m and the Blues will retain a sell-on clause.
The Camden-born winger has been with Chelsea since the age of seven. The England under-21 international has made 27 senior appearances for the Blues, scoring three goals – one of which was the equaliser in their 2-1 win at Craven Cottage last season.
It best for him
Bye bye Kevin. Hello George. Still awaiting news on Tom, Dick and Harry.
If true I’m happy
If we get George better deal than Kevin 3 years younger cheaper premium ship experience and a talented lad? Fingers crossed
Sounds odd given the Delap injury and Jackson leaving. It was George they brought on at the weekend.
Another scattergun transfer I’m sure he wasn’t Marco’s preferred choice but what do you expect when everything is left till the last minute thanks for nothing TK
Has great potential, still very young, Premiership experience at a right price, good capture if true
Is it just me or is everyone seeing the same “Sorry, we could not find the page you were looking for” error message on Sky’s Fulham transfer blog????! Ironic really.
