Fulham full back Antonee Robinson has described Premier League refereeing as ‘shocking’ and questioned the use of VAR after the PGMOL apologised to the club for ruling out Josh King’s goal in the SW6 derby on Saturday.
The American international posted to Instagram:
“If they can check something for five minutes and still get it wrong, then what’s actually the point? Standard of officiating in the Prem has been shocking for a while now.”
He’ll probably get fined for this. Ridiculous
VAR in the main is a passion killer for the fans in my opinion.
He probably get find free speech and the truth doesn’t go down well this days labeled a rebel
Being a Fulham supporter for 60yrs I feel it for the players and fans when wrong decisions goes against us and cost us 6 points as Man Utd should not have got a penalty as Bassey and Shaw was committing the same foul the exact time the referee should have spoken to both the guilty players. As for Chelsea if Josh goal was given they would have never recovered and their goal at first half added time was 1 minute over the 8mins.Now because of those wrong decisions we are in the relegation zone the team do not deserve that. I do hope Antonee does not get fine COYW.
Apology is not enough. Sack the var referee and how about extra point for the team affected.
Ultimately the decision making is down to the referee. VAR is only there to spot clear and obvious mistakes. Jones didn’t have the balls to stay with his original decision, which he didn’t and it took literally hours to make that corrupt decision. The effects meant no goal for us and without the VAR scandal, no 8/10 minutes additional time, hence no goal for the scum.
I’m not saying we would have won the match, but we would have had a great chance of the points with fair refereeing.
I agree with Ian Apology is not enough, the decision and time wasted, most probably cost the 3 points, some of the referees waist a lot off time checking the V A R, and make the wrong decision. Apologies are not enough.
To answer the Jedi’s question of “What is the point of VAR?”….it’s to give the Top 6 an insurance policy in games to ensure the smaller teams struggle.
Which coincidentally is exactly the same purpose of the Financial rules.
I’ve reached the conclusion that Football in England would actually be better if the Top 6 just left for their EuropeanSuper League, took their refs and VAR with them and we had a new League with 6 of the best Championship teams up to replace them.
The question isn’t what’s the point of VAR the question is what’s the point of the Premier League. Nobody can ever compete with the top teams due to the Financial rules and if you dare to compete on the pitch in an individual game then VAR will kick you down. Pointless.
I have spoken to referees at grass roots + and all agree that standard of top refs is just not good enough. These are the future refs for our top leagues so if they feel that mow they will probably decline opportunities to progress and the standard will therefore drop further. It’s time to keep the better parts of VAR, off side and goal line technology and give referees back the control of the game. We as fans, and players, will then have to accept that the game is controlled by the referee with the inevitable mistakes.
Yes, we’d probably get fewer mistakes if VAR was scrapped

So this is crap it does not change the result unless we insist on the game being replayed anyone can say sorry what about Josh Kings great goal sorry Josh we made a mistake that one mistake changed the whole game
Fulham should not accept the apology it will happen again because of corrupt officials like Kavanagh and Jones and I bet If it happens again it will be Fulham nothing changes UNLESS Fulham asked for the game to be replayed or Josh Kings Goal reinstated but that won’t happen if miracles do happen then Jones must never Referee a Fulhammatch again and Michael Salbury sacked
Does Fulham have the right to ask for a replay?
