Andreas Pereira is open to leaving Fulham before the end of the transfer window, according to reports from Rio, as Palmeiras ponder whether to revive their interest in the Brazilian midfielder.
Today’s O Globo claims that the 29 year-old has indicated through his agent that he is ‘willing to listen’ to a new approach from the Sao-Paolo side after they failed with two bids in January. Pereira, who was an unused substitute as Marco Silva’s side drew at Brighton in their opening Premier League fixture on Saturday, has fallen down the Fulham pecking order since openly discussing the idea of a move away from Craven Cottage in the foreign press last autumn.
No club has yet met Fulham’s reduced asking price for the former Manchester United midfielder and Palmeiras are not likely to overspend having already made signings this summer. O Globo suggests that Fulham might be willing to accept a lower fee for the Brazilian international, who wants first-team football to maintain a chance of representing his country at next year’s World Cup.
The main can’t take a free kick and can’t clear the first man at a corner, really not bothered about him leaving
If we do take a lower fee please can we install a 20% fee for any profit they make if they sell as we have to do the same to Man Utd. We have alternatives in King, ESR and Wilson.
Agreed. And he doesn’t seem to make any progress on improving his many weaknesses. You wonder what he does in training. He clearly has some strengths, but simply not enough. We should take what we can get right now.
I think we are all a bit unfair on AP . He worked his socks off, pulled off some great moves and outshone ESR . Clearly seen high standard to get into the Brazil Squad ! His set pieces were clearly not good enough but there again with exception of Wilson and Jimenez who else any good – and these two were off on injury ! But indeed it’s time to move on . With Josh King shining , ESR hopefully at level , and AI as an other option we no longer depend on AP filling the gap . Jimenez and Wilson a when on the pitch should do the set pieces .
Agree with Pezz. AP never shirks and was good in an advanced midfield role in his first season. You don’t get to play for Brazil if you’re rubbish. He’s not a deep lying midfielder but that was where he was asked to play last season. Still, that said it’s probably time for him to move on as with Berger, Lukic, in the deep role, (and King and ESR in forward roles) ahead in the pecking order AP won’t be playing.
