Fulham midfielder Andreas Pereira has taken his medical in England with Palmeiras poised to announce the Brazilian international’s arrival as a summer signing.

Globo Esporto reports that the paperwork is pretty much signed and sealed on the 29 year-old’s £8.4m move to the Sao Paolo-based outfit, who are ready to confirm the deal even before Pereira touches down in his homeland. The former Manchester United midfielder has agreed a four-year deal with Palmeiras and hopes to force his way into Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil squad for the World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States.

Palmeiras will pay Pereira’s transfer fee in installments and the deal takes their year-long spending to a Brazilian record £103m. The midfielder made 110 appearances in three years with the Whites, scoring ten goals.
