Fulham midfielder Andreas Pereira is poised to join Palmeiras for a fee of around £8.6m, according to various reports.
The Brazilian international watched the Whites’ draw 1-1 with his former club Manchester United yesterday afternoon from the Craven Cottage balcony and ESPN Brasil report that the 29 year-old will sign a five-year contract with Verdão once the payment structure and terms of the deal are finalised. Fulham turned down an offer of approximately £17m from Palmeiras in January, but are now happy to sell the wantaway midfielder as he has entered the final year of his current contract.
Pereira’s departure could free up funds for Fulham to enter the transfer market themselves as Marco Silva has demanded. He has made 110 appearances in three years with the Whites, scoring 19 goals, but disappointed the Fulham hierarchy by publicly discussing the possibility of leaving the Cottage last autumn. A return to his homeland and regular first-team football may help Pereira achieve his dream of representing Brazil at next summer’s World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
Low fee but he had to leave
Need another mid now as he is leaving.Looks like a very very week for Transfers !!.
Sooner then better
‘Pereira’s departure could free up funds for Fulham to enter the transfer market themselves’? What? Fulham seemed happy enough to pay around £34M for Kevin a week ago, in advance of any interest in Pereira then!
Great, that worked well for Fulham(sounds like the Lammy, Chagos deal). At least we are not paying Palmeiras to take him off our hands.
What’s the odds that if this deal is done, it won’t be completed in time to utilise the sale money in this transfer window.
As it’s less than the 10m we paid Utd does that mean they don’t get a 20 percent of fee?
Don’t believe we would accept such a low fee …
Been a good servant I believe always gave 100% but time for him to go now pretty much got all our money back so no complaints
Not sure likening it to a rock near Mauritius was a great analogy Martin. Think if you’d said it was as good as Nigel’s Brexit deal then people might have understood you better. Keep it to footy eh?
i seems Marseille are interested which is good news as it may push the price up. It is time for him to go anyway. To be fair he always put in a 100% effort just the end result especially dead ball kicks did not match this.I would also be interested to learn whether we have to pay Manchester United 20% of the whole transfer fee or just the amount over 10 Million. We need to get the deal over the line quickly so we can spend the money plus more on a decent mobile holding midfield. In my opinion Berg is not the answer too slow
Another brilliant piece of business. Leave it another week and we could be paying Palmeiras.
Kind of sums up our attempts in the transfer market.
Personally wouldn’t care, it’s not my money, but unfortunately it effects our ability to sign new player/s, assuming we might want to one day.
