Palmeiras have made a new approach to sign Fulham midfielder Andreas Pereira, according to various reports.

Both UOL and Goal state that the Sao Paulo side, who reached the quarter finals of the Copa Libertadores overnight, are offering around £11.5m to take the Brazilian international back to his homeland. That is significantly less than the bids that were rejected by the Whites in January.

Pereira, who joined Fulham from Manchester United in July 2022 for an initial £8m with add-ons, has made 119 appearances and scored ten goals, with 22 assists, in his team at Craven Cottage. The attacking midfielder’s current contract expires next June and he has turned down a new deal. The 29 year-old is ‘willing to listen’ to suitors offering him a move away from SW6 as he is desperate to play regular football to boost his chances of making the Brazil squad for next summer’s World Cup.

The midfielder, who angered Marco Silva by publicly discussing the possibility of a transfer last autumn, was an unused substitute in Fulham’s 1-1 draw at Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.
