Rodrigo Muniz’s representatives are in talks with Fulham over a new contract for the Brazilian striker after Atalanta abandoned their attempt to lure him to Serie A.

The Independent’s Miguel Delaney says that the Whites are keen to keep the 24 year-old at Craven Cottage and Muniz is set to stay ‘for the foreseeable future’. This follows reporting from Dean Jones that Fulham were preparing to offer the former Flamengo forward ‘a bumper pay rise’ in attempt to secure his long-term future in London.

Muniz, who came off the bench to stun Brighton with a stoppage-time equaliser on Saturday, has scored 27 goals in 98 games since Marco Silva brought him to SW6 in August 2021. He has another year to run on his current deal, with the club retaining a 12-month extension option, but the proposed new deal would reward the striker for becoming a regular goalscorer in the top flight.
