Jack Kelly is reporting that Fulham forward Rodrigo Muniz has said goodbye to his Fulham team-mates in anticipation of his desired move to Atalanta going through.
The Serie A side and the Whites are locked in negotiations over a deal for the Brazilian striker, with Fulham holding out for as close to their £50m valuation of the 24 year-old striker. Muniz, who has scored 26 goals in 97 appearances since moving from Flamengo, has told the west London club he wants to leave and turned down a new contract offer earlier this summer.
Well I am surprised he wants to leave. Everything was going so smoothly, and then this happens. I thought Muniz was one of the untouchables with Marco wanting him and backing him all the way.
I hope this does not mean that the team have had an inkling that Marco is only here for the short term
Leaving the ability of Muniz to one side.
Contractually Fulham could not have played a poker hand any worse!
This is bizarre. He is contracted from recollection to a 1+1 remaining contract.
We have been negotiating a new contract with him and he has a great working relationship with the manager.
Why has this got legs?!?
I think he knows that Marco is leaving next year. That’s probably also why Palinha went to Spurs.
Can’t blame Marco though. The twice annual clown show proves that we have no ambition. Tony Khan is what’s wrong!
I don’t know where this information comes from but Silva stated at his press conference that Muniz will be included in the side for Brighton on Saturday so who do you believe he must be pulling his hair out and trying to get a team ready, doesn’t this sound like Metrovic a couple of seasons ago leaving us with a short time to find a replacement
My thoughts and only my thoughts
Marco hasn’t agreed a new contract so if he has no intention of renewing his contract perhaps some of the players are aware of this, why would the Khan’s spend any money in this transfer market on building a side around Marco if his intention is to leave at the end of the season. My guess is he will leave us at the end of the season with a very creditable CV lets face it reports said Tottenham were looking at him along with other clubs, and with no value in our manager as his contract would have expired I am sure he will find himself in a attactive position provided we don’t get relegated but then we would sack him anyway.
My prediction is if Marco doesn’t sign a new contract then this season will be about just staying up would you spend money on a manager that will be leaving only for the new incoming manager to want to change how we currently play? I guess we know a lot less than the Khan’s maybe they are not so silly after all. What this space
Let’s not overthink this. I agree with most, it would be sad to lose Rodrigo when this is likely to be a breakout season for him but there are no guarantees of this happening and if we were to get 50£m for him we could use this money to buy Romulo and Pepi; not a bad return I’d say but again a lot of ifs and buts.
I’d also add, Raul is looking in very good form recently, if the Nations League is anything to go by. Therefore, I’d argue our best striker is still here at the club and Raul will be hungry to perform during a World Cup year and is likely to get more game time than Rodrigo and perhaps Rodrigo is aware of this and has one eye on the World Cup too…
Andreas’ Insta has a pic of the two of them smiling and the caption ‘se queda’ (he’s staying).
Being that he’s our future star striker, he is grossly underpaid in comparison to other players in the team. Any offer he gets, including Leeds, is going to pay him more. Seeing as though Fulham are telling Terami he’s going to have to take a pay cut on his £3m a year salary and they are looking at him to replace Muniz, it does not surprise me he wants to leave. I’ve no doubt Fulham will be trying to low ball him in his contract negotiations. I don’t doubt Muniz’s love for the club and Marco Silva but at the end of the day, money talks. Best of luck to him.
Hopefully is only the player desire to leave as I think that if he doesn’t wanna stay he should leave. RODRIGO by the way my dear boy you are making a huge mistake as ATALANTA is no more the GASPERINI one that won the europa league . With JURIC you will struggle and you will miss the COTTAGE .
£50m for Muniz is great business if we get it. Well done all.
Will he really be a big loss, raul seems to have lost the fear factor with regards to his old injury he will be a goal machine this year so Rodrigo will only be back up.
Of course he wants to play in the Champions League, with 15 times his salary.
Loved the guy but the world moves on
