Hinn flying the flag for Fulham in Acton

If you’ve been out and about around the UK this summer, you’ll have seen the Sky Sports’ marketing campaign on billboards in towns and cities proclaiming that the subscription service that has ruined the sanctity of the Saturday 3pm kick off has more live Premier League games than ever before.

One of the stars of this promotional push is an unmistakable figure to the Fulham faithful. You might know him by a name other than his own, which is Hinn. The Australian, who has been known to take a cheeseboard on the legendary Vodka Escape away days, emblazoned one of his replica tops with the moniker ‘The Butler’ because – as he put it – the Butler certainly does know we’re here.

Hinn, who hails from Australia, is also one of the world’s most serious Simpsons fans. So, it follows that his ‘number 2’ home shirt doesn’t carry the name of Kenny Tete or one of the legendary Fulham right backs from the past, but Arriaga as in ‘Arriaga and Arriaga II’ who played in the friendly between Mexico and Portugal that was staged in Springfield.

Of course, most of us know Hinn as a great guy who saves his only bad words for the opposition goalkeeper as they line up to take a kick from the Hammersmith End. Never has the classic ‘ooooooh, you’re s***’ chant been sung with such gusto as when H5 Hinn leads the home end in song.
