A report from Turkey claims that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to take Raheem Sterling to Besiktas but has to wait for the outcome of Fulham’s negotiations with Chelsea over their potential loan deal for the England international.
Fotospor claims that Solskjaer is interested in luring the former Liverpool and Manchester City forward to Istanbul – alongside Jadon Sancho – but that 30 year-old wants to stay in London. The Turkish sports paper suggests that the Black Eagles are having to be patient as Fulham are ‘better placed’ to secure Sterling’s services on account of their location and offering Premier League football, even though the Blues are keener on selling him.
Chelsea have apparently softened their stance on Sterling in the last few days and Fulham remain interested in securing a season-long loan for the four-time Premier League winner.
This is a signing I do not want. His salary even if reduced is prohibited and the player himself is on a downward slide. Kevin or even Nelson on loan a much better option. Don’t forget we still have Sess and left wing is his best position and he scores goals.
100% agree with John W
I have always loved R/S. He’s had a torrid time. Chelsea have just not been able to use his incredible abilities. It’s always sad to see a real talent not being able to play. As long as he is fit he would be unavailable signing. There will be man Fulham fans who will be dubious: “He’s past his best, WAGES!!!!”.
If we get him it will be as good a signing as Willian.
There will be a lot of whining and whinging, and vitriol against JK, but this could be an incredibly fantastic signing.
As long as he’s fit he could be an a fantastic signing.
At his best, Sterling is unplayable and World class. Not clear why he has not been at his best for a while. If Fulham can figure that out and come up with a solution then he would be a fantastic platform us. Wages etc is an issue for the Club, not the fans. Surely we just want great players and a great team?
Those here who have a good Fulham history should know that this is a kind of signing thar could potentially be very good or an utter flop. Andy Cole comes to mind here. Sterling has been one of England’s best attackers this last decade, and he s “only” 29. If he really wants to become in contention for a World Cup call up he could do much worse tban joining Fulham and Marco Silva. I for one would be delighted to see him in our colours, marquee signing!
Have you people actually watched his performances for Chelsea. Yes in his day he was a good player but we need players that are going to put a a shift every game. Talk about desperation.
Nelson, Kevin, Sterling, now Otele.
What an absolute shambles!
If this is an indication of Fulham FC’s forward planning of transfers, as we were informed by Marco Silva, last January, then we may as well all pack up and go home.
They don’t seem to have a clue about which player, exactly, they are targeting.
100%, if they can avoid paying the kind of money that Shaktar are asking for and sign either Nelson or Sterling on a loan type deal, they will do it.
Honestly, I am past caring. All I know is that we need a genuine left winger because Iwobi is most definitely not one.
If they had bought in Nelson, weeks ago, I would have been happy enough but, now, after having us all salivating about Kevin, even if Nelson does eventually come, it will seem like an anti-climax.
If Sterling is an option, at the right deal re his wages, he is levels above what we have at the moment.
Just, for God’s sake, settle on one and get the bloody deal done!
Sterling has been at the top level for a long time but has really looked off the pace for most of the last two years.
It seems a big risk to me but maybe Silva can perform a major form resurrection! Personally, from what I’ve seen I doubt Sterling can rediscover past glories but would love to be proved wrong
Sterling’s past it. Nelson will be injury prone so get Kevin and keep Godo and not offload him to Coventry. Problem solved but it won’t work out like that will it.
You could not write this could you remember Christmas Panto Kevin Signing oh yes he is,Oh no he isn’t and it’s the same with Nelson, Sterling, and many more what a Whitehall farce this would make Tony Khan could play Buttons or the Evil Barron with The Fulham as the audience at least we could boo or hiss
The scenario will be if we beat Moan Utd on Sunday TK will say why do we want new players
Mr T Khan we want to go to the next level DO YOU and into Europe DO YOU we love our club DO YOU
