Fulham have reportedly agreed a £21.5m fee with AC Milan for the permanent signing of winger Samuel Chukwueze, according to various Italian journalists.

The breakthrough in lengthy negotiations between the two clubs – first reported by Matteo Moretto – could see the Nigerian winger become Fulham’s second signing of a quiet summer that has disappointed first team coach Marco Silva. Chukwueze came on for the final 25 minutes of the Rossoneri’s 2-1 home defeat by Cremonese on Saturday night and has been looking for regular first-team football after struggling to match his Villarreal exploits in Serie A.

The 26 year-old, who won the Europa League with Villarreal in 2021, has scored eight goals in 69 games since moving to Milan in July 2023. He has won 46 senior caps for his country and helped the Super Eagles finish runners-up in the 2023 African Cup of Nations after winning the third/fourth play-off four years earlier.
