Coventry City have submitted a bid for Fulham winger Martial Godo, according to Sky Sports News.
Sky Sports’ Rob Dorsett reports that the 22 year-old, who has made six first-team appearances for the Whites, wants first-team football and is admired by Sky Blues boss Frank Lampard. The Ivorian Coast under-23 international enjoyed a successful loan spell with Wigan Athletic in 2023/2024, scoring four goals in 38 appearances, but Fulham’s sale of Jay Stansfield last summer prevented him from going out on loan in the Championship.
The former Dartford and Margate youngster has three years to run on his current contract at Craven Cottage. He enjoyed a meteoric rise from non-league football into Fulham’s academy and a number of Championship clubs were considering tabling loan offers in the final days of the domestic transfer window.
Makes sense. If we do sign Kevin or Nelson (or both) then Godo is not going to get first team football. Good luck to the lad.
as long as we get a few million for him the maybe that could go towards Kevin
Kevin or Reiss maybe but Sterling name keeps coming up and Godo over Sterling anytime
We should only send him out on loan.
I would send him on loan otherwise it’s another academy player gone
How much have Coventry offered if 7 million plus worth considering otherwise send him out on loan to a championship club with an option to buy for 8.5 million for an initial 6 months or keep him if we do not sign another wide player. Please not Sterling
Apparently Cov have offered £2.5 million and that’s being considered by the club. The report didn’t say if that included clauses but it did suggest that the fee was likely to be accepted. No idea how true it is. Fee does seem set on the low side
