Today’s Gazzetta dello Sport suggests that Atalanta are beginning to ‘raise the white flag’ on signing Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz.
The Italian sports daily’s printed edition reports that the Whites are still not willing to lower their asking price for the Brazilian forward, who came off the bench to score a stoppage-time equaliser in Fulham’s first Premier League game of the season at Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday. Gazzetta says that La Dea view the Cottagers’ valuation as being ‘extremely high’ and that the Bergamo-based club are also baulking at matching Crystal Palace’s valuation of Jean-Philippe Mateta.
Bergamo-based journalist Alessandro Pagliarini, who originally broke the news that Atalanta had made Muniz their top target to replace Mateo Retegui, has tweeted this morning that there is no agreement between the two clubs
Continua a mancare l'intesa tra #Fulham e #Atalanta per Rodrigo #Muniz ??

Atalanta and Fulham’s representatives are reportedly due to meet this afternoon. Marco Silva remains keen to keep Muniz at Craven Cottage and the former Flamengo forward is in contention to start against Manchester United on Sunday after his dramatic intervention at the AMEX.
Tell Atlanta to take a running jump. We need Muniz and hope to see him playing on Sunday
Arrivederci Atlanta ?
Why should we lower our price to suit Atlanta. Muniz has every potential to become our number 1 striker, stick to 50m, that is what it will take to replace him. I believe Tony Khan was here on Saturday to gauge the reaction of Marco Silva and the supporters for selling him. Now he knows.
The clear theme is that Atlanta think that all asking prices are too high and seem to try to deal with it by stamping their feet and having a hissy fit. Probably not going to work. Great if we keep Muniz.
Great news we need Muniz as our number one striker.
Great news he’s needed now but also for our future. Long may that continue. Great goal against the Seagulls.
