Fulham are preparing a £10m bid for Juventus winger Samuel Mbangula, according to reports from Italy.

Marco Silva is keen to add a winger to his first-team squad having been left short of wide options last season due to serious injuries afflicting Harry Wilson and Reiss Nelson. The Whites have watched the Belgian under-21 international extensively and view him as a talented youngster, who could add speed and finishing to Fulham’s forward line.

The 21 year-old left winger, who can also play as a second striker or a more conventional number ten, has starred for Juventus’ youth sides for a number of years but broke into the first team with a bang, scoring on his debut against Como on the first day of the Serie A season last August. He scored four goals – and added five assists – in 32 appearances but looks set to move on after Igor Tudor left him out of Juventus’ squad for the Club World Cup second round defeat against Manchester City.

Mbangula had reportedly rejected the chance to join Nottingham Forest as part of £20m double deal involving American forward Timothy Weah. Fulham have already ascertained that Mbangula is available for a permanent transfer this summer following talks with Juventus and believe they can lure him to Craven Cottage. Italian football correspondent Mirko Nicolino reports that the Whites are ready to submit a £10m offer as well as tabling a loan bid – with an option to buy – for Mbangula’s team-mate Douglas Luiz.
