Fulham are recruiting a specialist set-piece coach ahead of the new season.
The Whites have not had a set-piece coach during Marco Silva’s time at the helm, with the duties shared between the first-team coaching staff. We understand that the preparations for free kicks and corners were most recently the responsibility of Stuart Gray, who retired at the end of last season.
Set-piece coaches are in vogue at present with Fulham’s local rivals, Brentford, making waves in the top flight through their innovative approach. The success of Nicolas Jover saw him poached by Arsenal in 2021 and his replacement, Keith Andrews, has just been promoted to succeed Thomas Frank in Hounslow after the Dane became Tottenham Hotspur’s new boss earlier this summer.
Fulham are looking for a UEFA A-Licence holder who will work with ‘the head Coach and the first team coaching staff to design set-piece strategies that are consistent with the club’s tactical approach’. The advert can be viewed on the careers’ section of the club’s official website.
Fantastic badly needed although the biggest problem was the player taking most of them last season a certain Pereira. We also need someone to tell out team how to defend set pieces and especially corners
Yes score and defend – could make a 9-12 point difference . Not sure can put all the blame on Pereira .
True!
Just 99% of it!
Remarkable that we didn’t have one. But the evidence is clear. A big oversight by Marco. Disappointing
I hear that Tony Khan has put himself up for the job.
Duh! I think it’s obvious Pereira was the set-piece coach. And now we have to replace him.
