Portuguese paper O Jogo claim Jorge Cuenca is unlikely to remain at Fulham for the duration of his contract having been disappointed with a lack of first-team football in his first Craven Cottage campaign.
The newspaper reports that yesterday’s suggestion from Sacha Tavolieri that Spaniard could be the subject of a Benfica bid might be a bit premature. The Eagles are relaxed about their options in the centre of defence after Nicolas Otamendi signed a contract extension, but have placed Cuenca on their list of targets should the highly-rated Antonio Silva leave the Estádio da Luz this summer.
Cuenca, who has previously insisted through his representatives that he wants to stay and fight for a spot in Marco Silva’s side, played just twelve matches after signing for Fulham from Villarreal last August. He has three years left on his current contract and the Whites view him as a key part of their first-team squad, especially with Calvin Bassey likely to be away with Nigeria during the African Cup of Nations this winter.
We are the only team in the Premier League with no players signed. Nothing new there!!
Hi Cloe, it’s not André Silva but António Silva.
COYW
Nowhere has anyone said he’s Likley to leave. Another click bait headline
What a coup, we did re-signed King Kenny, after our recruitment team battled day and night to get this deal over the line and it wasn’t a deadline day, last minute signing either.
Yes C.B. l agree, what the …. are we doing. On this subject we have 5 centre backs Bassey, Isa, Jorge, Anderson and Luke de F.
All have played thr the 1st team
Jorge and Luke are learning but in my view the worst of the main 3 is Anderson who had a very bad end of the season if 5 is too many to keep who goes..??
Thanks WB. We’ve corrected it now.
yep he always looked good to me. I hope he stays and fights for his place.
Seems we could lose a lot of good players. He’s looked very good when his played and very good back up to Bassey. Will need replacements for anyone who leaves plus extra to improve for next season, as Silva says can’t stand still in these league. But at the moment that’s what we’re doing with chances of going backwards. Could the reason be Silva only having one season left , and not signing new deal holding us back. New manager in a year will want his own players looks bit of a mess
